Start with construction: framed or frameless?
Both are built to last — the difference is how the front of the cabinet box is finished, which changes the look and a little of the storage space.
Face frame around the opening
Frame 60 door styles
- Solid wood face frame around the box opening
- Classic American look — shaker, raised panel
- Extra rigidity; easy to scribe to uneven walls
No frame — full-access white box
Frameless 15 door styles
- No face frame — full-overlay doors edge to edge
- Sleek European look — slab, gloss, glass
- Wider openings and a bit more usable space
